Time to blog... Actually I decided to blog after reading Julya's blog... Haha... I wasn't suprised Hady won... He was the obvious winner la... Jonathan did well but the song "You give me wings" just showed that Jon doesnt have versatility in his singing... His voice doesnt suit just any genre whereas Hady is more versatile, he can sing all kinds of genre... I wasnt sure of who deserves to win until Hady sang 'You Give Me Wings'... Like Dick said, it was sensational and INSPIRATIONAL... When Jon sang that song I was asking myself 'How come not inspirational ar? Like when Taufik sang I Dream, it was very much felt' Thank god Hady gave an inspirational rendition... But I really like Jon's rendition of Chasing Cars, was even better than the original... Btw I voted once for Hady... =p Better than nth rite?
Oh, do you all know that Leann Rimes sang the song 'I Dream' first before Taufik? So much so claiming that song was specially written for him/sly... Mediacorp penipu... Anyways, Taufik's rendition was so much more inspirational that Leann's...
So will Hady be as popular or more popular than Taufik? My answer will be NO! I dunno why la but this is what I think la...
1 more week to 'graduation' 6 Oct! Haiz so nervous, dunno can perform as an ambulance medic or not... hmm...
Cons: Pros of being a Station Medic: Cons: How? How? How? I'm so indecisive! Actually, just this morning(5.45am) when I came out of the lift, I saw an orange wheeled stretcher and immediately I thought there's an ambulance nearby... At my carpark, I saw Alpha 221, tt means it's from Changi Firestation (221 is the code, 2 is division<2nd>, next 2 is station I'm so fucking stressed up! Should I go for Instructor or Station Medic... Hope I get the answer in my dreams tonight... Meanwhile gonna watch the Videoclip 'Heart', hope it'll bring some peace to my mind...
I'm in a great dilemma! I had heard rumours that my name is in the nomination list for Medic Instructor but I took it lightly... And this morning Instructor Yong confirmed it! I was wondering how come my name is in the list when I've been keeping on a low profile... And the other instructors also like neva mentioned my name like they did for others whose names are in the list... My instincts told me that probably Mem' chose me, cos I complaint to her abt one of her instructor... Means I kinda got her attention... Also for my Infant CPR, she assessed me and I passed at first atempt(thx to Alvin for giving me some pointers).. She actually failed almost 3/4 of the class and they had to go for a 2nd attempt...
True enough... during the interview today, Mem' told me that she chose me because she has been observing me... She said that most of the nominees are the noisier ones so she chose me cos she thinks I'm the cool and steady type... She needs a balance of cool/steady and firm/noisy instructors... And she hoped that I could come back and work as her instructor... I'm really confused now!! @_@
Pros of being an instructor:
I kinda like this song... It's slow but probably how the singers deliver the song made it interesting... The one thing abt Indonesian singers is that they dun have to do much to give a good performance... Actually I was searching for Indonesian Idol runner up, Dirly's performance on Pecinta Wanita, I like this song cos it's so cool... Cudnt find it but found the video of the original singer, Irwansyah and that led me to this video above... It seems like a good movie, I shall search for the vcd/dvd when I have the time...
Medic Course
Completed soooo many tests... So relieved now... Kinda unsure of what I want... Station Medic or HQ Medic? One has a higher allowance but the other offers me a 8-5 cum slacking job... I know being a Station Medic is priceless, I can never get this experience again EVER! But I'm just not sure if I have what it takes to be a Station Medic... Too much reponsibilities... I need to be strong physically, mentally and emotionally... Abit too much ar? Aiya dunno la...
Lesson on Voice Procedure was soooo damn fun!! We got the chance to play with the Matra Set(Walkie Talkie)... It's so cool to be able to learn how to use it, as in how you talk using a walkie talkie! I had to do a loooong message and I did it really slowly so that I do not have to repeat but one idiot had to "40(four zero), repeat all, over" I was like "*&%#*#!**!#^*!#^!!*^#*!&^#*!" Another funny part was when someone asked Andrew to repeat and Andrew went "99(Niner Niner), My location la sial" hahaha... he said sial but lucky the instructor didnt hear.. Hahahaha! But of cos in stations we can't use vulgarities cos we'll be using the channel where everybody will tune in to... Advice given by Enchik was to THINK before you Speak!
Learnt alot of invaluable stuffs! 3 weeks to go!
Had my FA/Resus test just now... FA test was good... The instructor was cool... He is interested in my Diploma course and so he asked me alot of questions... had fun talking to him while doing the FA(bandages)... I was supposed to immobilise a fractured jaw and i can't remember how to... So I told him I need to think awhile first and he allowed me... lol! At the end of it he said "Good"...
For my resus test, the instructor was Melvin...I so hate this guy... He's full of shit... Always talking about discipline but I think he needs to check himself first... All the while when I was doin my resus test he wasn't paying attention, he was busy talking to a sergeant instructor whom I dunno... He's like can't be bothered to observe me... The last part I forgot to release the remaining oxygen before keeping the equipment back and so he told me to drop 20 first... What the fuck... I found out later that I wasn't the only one who forgot and got pumped...
At the end of the day before we went back, Mem' asked Melvin if there's any failures for resus and he said NO ALL PASSED... then mem' checked the papers and saw one paper with 44/100 and she read out the name.. And it was my name... I was so shocked... Mem's told me to do a re test on Fri... I kept cool... After we bersurai, I plucked up all the courage I had and went back to CDA to find mem' with Thedy... Thedy was unhappy with the way Melvin assessed him for the resus test(Thedy is a nursing graduate)... While walking we met Melvin... Shit...
Melvin: Eh why y'all still here?
Me: We need to see mem'
Melvin: Why?
Me: Personal problems
Melvin: Oh you two got personal problems at the same time huh?
Me:*faked a smile* where can we find mem'?
Melvin: Come la I bring you all.. what's your problem? Can tell me also.. Financial? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? Or you two gay wanna get married?
Me: hehehe, again I faked a smile...

Me: Erm it's actually regarding the resus test... I felt that the instructor wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing, he was talking to another instructor almost all the time, I'm wondering how did he assessed me when he didn't even see what I was doing? He only pointed out two mistakes... I do not see the point in doing a re test when I dunno where I went wrong?
Mem': Yea that's true...
Thedy: *he told mem' the same thing*
Mem': Ok first of all I want to apologize on behalf of the instructor, the instructors are all NSFs so they dun really give their 100% when doing their job... I will talk to the instructor... Don't let this one issue dampen your spirit... Tmr I will personally assess both of you okay...

Me: Eh she said her instructor NSFs so cant give 100%, den later I posted to Station... and when patient has difficulty in breathing I'll tell him... "wait ar.. I talking to my friend on the phone.. I NSF la.. so can't give 100%... Later I finished talking then I'll put on the NRM mask for you ok... You wait there first ar.."

Tmr mem's gonna assess me.. I'll make sure I wayang(act) infront of her man... I'll give my 110% tmr! After tt I'll ask her about my performance and tt if I deserve to fail or not... If she thinks I'm good then I'm gonna tell her something that I didnt manage to tell her today...
Me: Mem' I'm not trying to put Melvin in a bad light but if you remembered... yesterday u asked him if there were any failures... what did he reply? He said no failures... But turned out, I failed!? And he was the one who failed me and yet he told you there are no failures? That only shows he didn't know wat he was doing... his mind was somewhere else when he was carrying out the test... I can't be sure if the others got their well deserved marks or not? Or maybe those who should fail were given a passed by him...

Despite studying at the very last minute, I scored 43/50! Yay! But quite disappointed la.. I made 3 careless mistakes... The one that really cost me marks was the question on RSE! I wrote about RBS! Damn la! I so cock! I farking know what's RSE lor! But I dunno how come I wrote about RBS! I really thought I saw RBS instead of RSE... Sigh... Perhaps not fated to be the top scorer.. Top score was 48...
Tmr I'll be having my FA and Resuscitation Eqpt. Test! You know those masks with the bag that can be pressed to allow air to go into the patient's lungs via the mouth... The one you see on tv when they are trying to save a victim of a road accident?? That's one component of the test... There're still oropharangeal(airway guerdal), suctioning, etc. I should be able to pass la... I always pay attention in class! Semangat nak jadi ambulance medic.. hahaha...
Class has been gettin more fun... no not the lessons but I've started talking to people around me... It gets bored to just talk to asyraf and jun nian and also they are always sleeping during break time... It's fun talking to Fahmi, Faiz, Paul, Ong, Alvin, Andrew... haha.. Sometimes I dunno who to listen to... When I'm talking to Paul, Faiz will call me, and then ong, and then Alvin and then Fahmi... I can neva complete my sentences... And I'm now addicted to Fahmi's signature phrase "macam paham..." hahaha... And that idiotic Andrew msged me "macam paham.." when I was on the train.. I can't stop laughing to myself.. You all might tink I'm mad... just those two words and I'm laughing like crazy but you all should hear how we say that two words man!
Oh we were told that only 20 of us will be selected to go to station and be an ambulance medic... Hmm... hope I'll be on the list... Can't wait to graduate from this course.. can't wait to wear my smart3 uniform(ambulance one), I hate my current smart4 uni... looks so fire fighter...
4 weeks to graduation! That also means, alot of things need to be learnt in the next 4 weeks! arggh... My brain gonna explode! I'll update again after thurday's infusion lesson... die die die...
Went to the national library to get the emergency medicine handbook and I had a HARD time searching for it... So I went to the machine and inserted my 11B but it couldn't read the barcode, I don't have my i/c ma... I tried my TP ezlink and it works BUT I was prompted to settle my outstanding fines first before I can proceed borrowing the book! Damn, it was just a 30cents fine! I do not have cashcard and so I didn't borrow the book! A wasted trip! Quickly went to Plaza Sing to meet Lucy...
We had dinner at Swensens, courtesy of Lucy! Thanx for the treat! At the entrance, it was quite a queue and there's this manager(i think) who went down the queue asking ppl the number of pax and telling them that he'll get a table for them asap... Lucy thought he was polite and that he gave good service... I told her, I disagree... He's basically going down the queue repeating the SAME thing... It was almost like a machine talking to us...There were no facial expressions, emotions, eye contact, etc. Oh well perhaps I am expecting too much...
Lucy had fish n' chip, I had chilli fish pasta and for dessert we had Banana Crumble(I should hav snapped a pic of this dessert... damn) The service was rather good... There's this server who was very attentive to our needs, he came to inform me that my pasta will be served in 2 mins time... He came to top up our ice water without being prompt to... Also when he cleared the maincourse, we told him to pick up our dessert and he said "Ya, I already picked up" So we didnt hav to wait too long for our dessert! The dessert was yummilicious!
After that we went to Lido to watch Forbidden Siren, wanted to watch Art of the Devil 2 but it's R21... Boohoo! 4 more mths... Oh man.. time's passing really fast! I'm turning 21!! Anyway I was dozing most of the time while watching the movie and I was elbowed by Lucy a number of times... Told her I cannot take it, I'm damn sleepy! lol! The movie is crap! Cabbed home at 2am...
Ok la... Am going to study for my test tmr... Wish me luck! And yea this thurs I'm havin infusion lesson! Am going to do it on my partner and he's gonna do it on me... Wish me luck again!! For those who doesn't know wats infusion... here's a pic...
